Three original works belonging to Bahruz Kangarli’s creativity were presented to the museum

Presentation ceremony in accordance with delivering three paintings which belong to Bahruz Kangarli’s creativity to B.Kangarli Museum in Nakhchivan city by Azerbaijan National Art Museum was held on February 2. Natavan Gadimova , the minister of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic opened the event and stated that Bahruz Kangarli, the founder of the realist painting in Azerbaijan played an important role in the progress of tool painting, making landscape and portrait as an independent genre.

His paintings,portraits,sceneries,natrimots,compositions with a plot , theatre decorations,caricatures,graphic works are good samples for it. Although the number of these works is 2000, 500 of them has reached our period.

It was mentioned that great attention and care are shown to the art world and everlasting creativity of the prominent artist in his native homeland where he was born and lived.

According to the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis Vasif Talibov “On the perpetuation of the name of Bahruz Kangarli” dated February 15, 2001, his over grave monument was restored in Nakhchivan city ,his name was given to the Exhibition Hall of the Artists’ Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic operating from 1972.

The Artists’ Park named after Bahruz Kangarli has been put into operation in Nakhchivan

The Artists’ Park named after Bahruz Kangarli was put into operation and a statue to outstanding artist was erected in Nakhchivan, on May 25, 2016.

The Press of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic reported to AZERTAC that Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic congratulated the participants of the event held on that occasion and all the creative intellectuals of the Autonomous Republic on the occasion of putting into operation the Artists’ Park named after Bahruz Kangarli and erection of the monument to the outstanding artist and said: "Bahruz Kangarli was a patriotic figure who had a rich spirit of creativity, a new style and national spirit in the Azerbaijani art. He laid the foundation of transition from medieval miniature art to realism in Azerbaijani painting, and a new painting school, enriched this art with its unique form, genre and means of expression”.

The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis said: "The task of realistic painting is to express and keep alive life or nature, not just copying them. Bahruz Kangarli, who was able to transfer the realities of his times to the canvas, brought the painting art closer to the life of the nation and reflected the country's historical past and the socio-political events of his times.

The presentation of the book “Fortune of Bahruz bey Kangarli” was held

On April 4, 2017, in the Museum of Bahruz Kangarli in Nakhchivan city, the presentation of the book “Fortune of Bahruz bey Kangarli” published under the support of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was held.

The chairman of the Artists’ Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Ulviyya Hamzayeva opened the event and mentioned that Nakhchivan is an old Azerbaijan land having centuries old history. In this mysterious land, well-known statesmen, poets, prominent architects, painters have grown, culture, art as well as fine art had passed a great development way. During independence years all necessary conditions have been created for the development of painting and fine art in the autonomous republic. In 2011, the 40^th anniversary of Artists’ Union was held with the care and attention of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, in 2013, Artists’ Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was provided with a new building, the artists working in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were provided with equipped workshops, album-catalogues of the artists were published, successful artists were awarded.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Custodians of the Knowledge Foundation under the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Ali Hasanov made a speech at the event and mentioned that along with historical and cultural monuments of Nakhchivan, it is also famous for its outstanding personalities who had invaluable services in our country.

An event at the Bahruz Kangarli Museum

An event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Bahruz Kangarli Museum in Nakhchivan was held on June 16, 2017.

Sabina Alincali called the event to order and said today the perpetuation of the memory of outstanding personalities has become a tradition in the Autonomous Republic. It was stated that Bahruz Kangarli Museum was established by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated May 22, 2001. National leader Heydar Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony of the museum on June 18, 2002. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, signed a Decree on holding 120th jubilee of Bahruz Kangarli in 2012. According to this decree, a lot of work has also been done in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, copies of Bahruz Kangarli's most works kept in the fund of the Azerbaijan National Art Museum have been given to the Bahruz Kangarli Museum, and for the first time the complete collection of the artist's works was released as an album catalog.

At the same time, postage stamp was published on the occasion of the jubilee, a documentary about prominent artist Bahruz Kangarli's life and activities was filmed and the building of the museum was reconstructed and put into use in 2013. After reconstruction, the museum has been serving the people of Nakhchivan and Bahruz Kangarli's lovers for many years. Now hundreds of exhibits of the realist artist's heritage are protected in the museum.
